About the Mix:
Whilst we usually find ourselves overly steeped in new musical discoveries from the original DIY movement of the late 70s/early 80s (much of which we find on Jonny Zchivago's unbeatable Die or D.I.Y.? blog), for this mix we decided to focus on new DIY music from lesser-known musicians that we have had the pleasure of encountering recently. Aside from a couple of choice cuts from mainstay favourites The Rebel & The Shadow Ring, all of the music here is from the last couple of years, mainly from the UK, and mostly released by tiny labels or self-released (if released at all). It's all top-notch stuff to our ears, and hopefully goes to show that DIY is alive and well in 2019.
